It is with great pleasure and sincere emotion that we present this auction, under the title "Tiago and Vítor Lopes", two names that, in addition to representing collectors passionate about numismatics, also symbolize a history of friendship, sharing and dedication to history and coins.

I have known Vítor Lopes since 2012. It was during this time that, between coins and long conversations, a true friendship was born, built at the numismatic fairs in Zurich, Basel, Verona and Munich. Vítor, an emigrant in Switzerland, has always been tireless – not only in the support he gave me at each of these fairs, but above all in the way he lives history through coins. His passion for numismatics is contagious, always guided by a lively curiosity and a deep look at the past. For me, he is a loyal friend and a companion on this journey that I greatly value.

I met Tiago later, also in Switzerland. He had just arrived, taking his first steps outside Portugal, in search of a better life. But although he was new to the emigrant journey, he was not new to numismatics. His passion for classical coins and medieval Portuguese coinage had been with him for years, and he quickly revealed himself to be an attentive scholar, with refined taste and great dedication.

It is therefore with great honour and a sense of personal and professional recognition that my team and I present this collection for auction. More than just a set of pieces, this auction is the reflection of lives crossed by friendship and the sharing of a common love for history and numismatics.
