Votive lamp. 19th century
Bronze lamp. 19th century. Lamp with a circular vase decorated with a series of classicist decorative mouldings on the lower part and an oval shape from which a ring hangs, and another moulding on the upper part joining three cherub heads. Three chains of polygonal links emerge from the back of the mouldings and lead to a piece decorated with palms and scrolls, which ends in a ring that ends at the ceiling. Also
known as votive lamps because of their frequent use in churches, this type of lamp was an outstanding
were outstanding pieces. Compare, for example, the one in San Antonio de la Florida (Madrid), a work by Domingo Urquiza dated 1799.
