War Poster Back Our Girls YWCA WWI USA
Original vintage World War On poster Back Our Girls Over There - Issued by the YWCA Young Women's Christian Association for the United War Work Campaign - Artwork by Clarence Frederick Underwood (1871 - 1929) features a lady operating a radio communication station wih a crowd of armed soldiers in the background. Bold blue lettering below. The YWCA movement was founded in the UK in 1855 with YWCA USA founded in 1858 to support and promote equal human rights for women and girls; the YWCA now serves over 120 countries worldwide. Poor condition, staining, restored paper losses, restored tears on image, restored creasing, overpainted on margins, backed on linen. Country of issue: USA, designer: Clarence Frederick Underwood , size (cm): 72x54, year of printing: 1910s.
