GREEK BLACK GLAZE FOOTED DISH - Ca. 4th-3rd Century BC.A glossy black glazed pottery dish characteristic of the Late Classical Attic and South Italian pottery traditions. This vessel has a pedestal foot and a wide, shallow shape, with a slightly flaring lip. There is some slight misfiring on the interior. The glaze has been omitted from the bottom of the foot consciously, to add a sense of contrast. These vessels were used to present and contain various food items, ranging from everyday meals to ceremonial banquets.
