SOUTH ITALIAN BLACK-GLAZED SKYPHOS - Ca. 400-300 BC.A black glazed skyphos with a tall body that slightly tapers to a ring base. The cup is fitted with two horizontal handles on opposing sides and the lower part of the body was intentionally left unglazed. The skyphos was a popular drinking vessel in ancient Greece, used for serving wine and other beverages during social and religious gatherings.
