ROMAN GOLD AND GARNET EARRINGS - Ca. AD 100-300.A pair of elaborate gold earrings, each composed of a large tear-shaped plaque set with a garnet encircled by triangles and fine granules. It is attached to a convex-shaped hoop of twisted design and followed by a sheet of gold in the form of a decorative panel conjoined by a large granule at the very bottom. Size: 40mm x 18mm; Weight: 6g Provenance: Property of a London Ancient Art Gallery; formerly in the famous Alison Barker collection, a retired London barrister; acquired between the early 1960s to 1990s.
