LARGE & HEAVY ROMAN SILVER VESSEL - Ca. AD 100-300.A stunning silver vessel with a deep basin, a flat base, smooth corseted walls, and a wide opening with an everted rim. Crafted with great care and skill, this vessel exemplifies Roman silver craftsmanship at its finest. The vessel's deep basin provides ample space for holding and storing liquids, while its flat base ensures stability and balance. The corseted walls of the vessel are smooth, lending the vessel a refined and elegant appearance. Such vessels were used for a variety of purposes, including holding and serving liquids such as wine, water, and oil. The smooth walls of the vessel made it easy to clean, while the silver material from which it was made served to keep the contents cool and fresh.
