SELJUK JUG WITH SILVER AND COPPER INLAY
Ca. 12th - 13th century AD .A copper jug with a bulbous and faceted body rising to a waisted neck. The domed lid is fitted with an applied finial, and the arching handle is attached to the side. The neck is embellished with a circumferential band of benedictory inscription, inlaid in silver.Size: 245mm x 175mm; Weight: 580gProvenance: Property of a London Islamic art specialist collector; previously in a collection formed since the 1980s.
