COLLECTION OF EGYPTIAN SCARABS AND A SEAL
Middle Kingdom, Ca. 2055 - 1790 BC. A collection of scarabs and a seal includes four distinct scarabs. The first scarab features a domed insect, beneath which lies a hieroglyphic symbol of a heart and the crown. A lengthwise suspension hole is drilled through the body, allowing for attachment to a necklace or swivel ring. The second scarab boasts naturalistic features. Underneath the insect, there is a carved, stylised hieroglyphic symbols. Like the first, it also has a lengthwise suspension hole for mounting on a necklace or swivel ring. The third has beneath the domed insect, engraves geometric symbols. It has a suspension hole drilled lengthwise. The fourth scarab is ovoid in shape and possesses realistic features. Beneath the domed insect, engraves with hyerogliphic. It has a suspension hole drilled lengthwise through the body for the purpose of mounting on a necklace or swivel ring. The central green faience seal has square body depicting the god Thoth holding the cross anch.
