GNATHIAN EPICHYSIS WITH GRAPEVINE MOTIF
Ca. 330 - 300 BC. A fine epichysis modelled in buff light clay with a shiny black gloss covering the entire surface. The vessel exhibits elaborate geometric and floral decoration rendered in maroon and yellow pigment. Characteristic of Gnathian ware, the decoration includes grape bunches and vine tendrils beneath a crimson band.
