The auction boasts strong provenances, coming from collections of Axel Guttmann, Nahum Goldmann, Joseph Klein, Countess Adelheid Lanckoronska, Elie Borowski, Marilynn Alsdorf, Mr. & Mrs. Carl Tautenhahn, the Estate of Elliott Golub, Winnetka, Alison Barker and Mrs B. Ellison. ATTIC NET LEKYTHOS
Ca. 400 - 300 BC. A terracotta lekythos with a pyriform body seated on high foot and with a narrow neck under a short flared rim. The neck is connected with a strap curved handle to the shoulder. The main decoration is a diagonal net in black glaze. For similar see: The British Museum, Registration number 1859,0216.52, 1856,1226.204. Size: 90mm x 90mm; Weight: 125g. Provenance: Property of a central London gallery, previously acquired on the Dutch art market; previously acquired on the Belgium art market; Daniel Bogaerts, Brussels, 1995.
