Apollo Art Auctions is proud to announce the ?Fine Ancient Art & Antiquities ? The Prince Collection? sale. Commencing on the 26th of January at 1 p.m. GMT. The auction showcases a spectacular array of antiquities from the Egyptian, Roman, Greek, Viking, Medieval and Western Asiatic cultures ranging between 6000 BC to 1600 AD. The sale will be held live at our Central London showroom, 63 ? 64 Margaret Street, W1W 8SW, and online via the Apollo Art Auctions platform. The auction boasts items from the Prince collection from lot 1 to lot 261, as well as other incredible provenances such as the collections of Jacques Carre, Naji Asfar, Eric Strobel, Georgia Chrischilles, Louis-Gabriel Bellon, Khawam brothers, Kurt Flimm, Leo Mildenberg, Xavier Guerrand-Hermes, Gaston Maspero Archaeological Fund, Elsa Bloch-Diener, Mrs B. Ellison, Sir Roger Moss and the Thalassic Collection. EGYPTIAN BLACK STONE FALCON-SHAPED PENDANT
Ca. 664 - 30 BC.A small amulet carved from black hardstone depicting the god Horus in the shape of a falcon. The dignified falcon stands tall atop an integral rectangular plinth with delineated legs, holds both wings against the sides of its breast, and features a perforated suspension loop protruding just above the broad tail feathers.
