MAMLUK ENAMELLED GLASS JUG WITH BIRDS
Ca. AD 1200. A Mamluk enamelled glass jug. The vessels shoulders are embellished with enamelled polychrome medallions, depicting standing birds alternating with coloured geometric motifs. The neck is large, tall and decorated with a protruding band and a red vegetal motif. The jug's handle connects from the short, flared rim to the pear shaped body, which is seated on a discoid foot.
