LARGE CYPRIOT BICHORME AMPHORA WITH CERTIFICATE OF DIETRICH VON BOTHMER
Ca. 750 - 600 BC. A large example of a wheel-thrown pottery amphora with a flat, circular base, an inverted piriform body with a rounded shoulder, a cylindrical neck with a folded rim, and a pair of thick, arching handles. Several panels with geometric motifs decorate the neck. The body is adorned with coloured concentric bands. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter. This item is accompanied by a letter from Dietrich von Bothmer, 1985. This piece is accompanied by a historical report from Alessandro Neri, an international Cultural Heritage expert based in Florence, Italy.
