["Comrade Blucher, you're fighting back!". Pilot steam locomotive. Lost monuments of Moscow]. Trans-Siberian Express : [Booklet]. - Moscow: International Book, 1941. - [8] p.: ill.; 42x14,3 cm (56,8x14,3 cm when spread out).
Description:
Lots of photographic illustrations, photo montage. The booklet contains 11 small blocks of text, as well as photos of the train and train stations along the mainline. It is noteworthy that among the photographs of Moscow there is the nowadays lost monument "Constitution of the USSR" (demolished in 1941), as well as the old Main Pavilion of VDNH with a 50-meter tower and figures of a tractor driver and a collective farmer. On the front side there is a map of the railway mainline - we may see there, among other things, a station "Otpor" [Resistance] (now Zabaikalsk). The former name was given due to the the Russian-Chinese military operations on the CER in the 1920s. V.K. Blucher became the first Soviet Union knight of the Order of the Red Star, and "Far Eastern Song" (1929) with "Comrade Bucher" became one of the most recognizable, largely thanks to its chorus. There is also a retouched photo of the experimental "2-3-2" steam locomotive of the Voroshilovgrad Locomotive Plant that has not been preserved. Little do we now know about it, but in 1957 it set a steam locomotive speed record in the country of 175 km/h.
