Very fresh and luminous impression representing some buildings that reflect on the surface of the water. The composition is characterized by a very interesting composition of elements.
This artwork was realized by the French painter and engraver Jacques Thévenet (Nièvre, 1891 - Paris, 1989). The artist studied at the Académie Julian, and after World War I, in 1919, he worked as a decorator at the atelier of Marcel Mathelin, who became his master, teaching him the art of engraving and the different techniques of graphic art. In 1922, he exhibited at the Salon des Indépendants, where he met the art critic Roger Allard. Thévenet realized illustrations for several magazines. A catalog of his oeuvre was published in 1997.
