The Drain is an original artwork realized by Léopold Lévy. Passepartout included 26 x 34 cm.
Hand-signed in pencil by the artist on the lower right corner. Numbered in pencil on the lower left corner. Edition of 25 prints. Signed on plate on the lower right.
Fresh and beautiful impression representing a drain with some wood structures on the right and on the left of the composition. In the center of the composition, a drain of water with a bridge and, in the background, some trees.
The artwork was realized by Léopold Lévy (Paris, 1882 - 1966), a French painter and engraver. His edition of De la Nature (De Rerum Natura) illustrated with 41 original etchings is considered one of the most beautiful artist's books of the XX century. He was friends with Charles Edmond Kayser, André Derain, and Henri Vergé-Serrat. From 1936 to 1949, he travelled around Turkey.
