Charles Mackerras ALS dated 12th December 1955 on headed British Broadcasting Corporation paper. This typed letter is signed by Mackerras in blue ink. Mackerras AC, CH, CBE (17 November 1925 - 14 July 2010) was an Australian conductor who was an authority on the operas of Janacek and Mozart, and the comic operas of Gilbert and Sullivan.
