Carried at the AEO's station aboard Victor K2 XM715 on an aborted take-off run and brake - chute deployment on Twy 06 at Bruntingthorpe on Sunday 30th April 1982 the 35th Anniversary of Black Buck 1. Personally Signed by Victor Crew That refuelled the Vulcan on the Buck 1 Flight to Port Stanley. Captain Sqn Ldr R Tuxford AFC, Co -Pilot Flt G D Rees and Air Electronics Officer Sqn Ldr M E Beer. Victor K2 XL189 - call sign "White Two" - lands at Wideawake Auxiliary Airfield, Ascension Island on the 1st May 1982. Captain Sqn Ldr Bob Tuxford and his crew, Flt Lt Glyn Rees (Copilot), Flt Lt John Keable (Nav Radar), Sqn Ldr Ernie Wallis (Nav Radar) and Flt Lt Mike Beer AEO were airborne for 14 Hours and 5 Minutes during Operation. Also Signed on the Back by Flt Lt Martin Withers DFC Pilot of Vulcan during Black Buck 1 serving with 101 Sqn RAF flew during the Falklands Conflict. Details enclosed. Good condition.
