WW2 50th Anniv Dam Busters cover Signed D Heal on Dams Raid 17th May 1943. 17 May 1993 Scampton 50th Anniversary Dam Busters Sqn Special Postmark Special cover issued for 50th The Dam Busters No 617 Squadron Blue flown cachet on the back Flown over the Derwent Dam Flight time 1Hr 5min. Personally Signed by Dudley P Heal DFM on Dam Buster Raid with 617 Sqn. 17 May 1943.Sgt D P Heal was navigator in Flight Sergeant Ken Brown's Lancaster ED 918 - AJ F ( Freddy) which bombed the Sore Dam. Returned safely. Dudley Heal went to serve with 29 OUT in 1944 and then with 214 Squadron until he was shot down on 14th March 1945. This resulted in the whole crew becoming POWs for six weeks when the war ended. He was released from the RAF in 1946. Certified Copy No 88 of 111. Good condition.
