Stannage Edge. By Ian Davenport Created in 2022 Acrylic on x8 canvases Artwork Signed - SHIPS FROM THE ARTIST'S STUDIO IN ------ Doncaster, United Kingdom Inspired by Hockney's A Bigger Grand Canyon (1998) which was painted on x60 canvases, this is a large depiction of Stannage Edge in the Peak District, near Sheffield in Northern England. This dramatic glacial bowl is well loved by walkers and climbers alike and was an exciting project. Painted on location across x8 canvases this is a large scale piece which would make a statement in any setting. The canvases are joined on the back with a wooden frame for hanging. BIO I am a Contemporary Landscape Artist working in oils. Living in Yorkshire I am inspired by the local landscape, capturing the open spaces and big skies of Northern England. A lifetime of walking and cycling has given me a deep connection to the landscape, the passing seasons and changing weather. Working Plein Air, my art is an immediate emotional response to the landscape, often reflecting the challenge of the process. Condition: Good Condition, as in images Dimensions: 240 x 100 cm
