An Unexpected Discovery By Alisher Ilkhamov Photography/Digital Art 2024
SHIPS FROM London, United Kingdom This composition is created from photographs of specific fragments of nature?fallen leaves and twigs?that capture my attention and fascination. At the core of my work lies an existential inquiry: observing how dead or decaying elements of nature not only retain but often amplify their beauty, I reflect on why human beings seldom undergo a similar transformation. In my work I incorporate the principles of Ikebana, but within a two-dimensional realm. I am an emerging artist, though my artistic journey began in my youth when I studied easel painting for two years at the Tashkent Theatre and Art Institute. While I later pursued a career in social research, my deep connection to the arts remained constant. I have regularly engaged with museums and exhibitions and explored photography, which has become central to my creative practice.My work has been featured in several exhibitions. In March 2024, I participated in the 6th Turkish Community Art Exhibition in London, followed by my solo exhibition at Willesden Gallery in October. In November, my work was included in the Remembrance Exhibition at St George?s Arts Centre in Gravesend, and in December, in the Transcendence Exhibition at Boomer Gallery in London. Currently, one of my pieces is on display at the 2025 Annual Open Exhibition at the Royal Cambrian Academy of Art in Conwy, running until March 1, 2025.A British citizen with Central Asian origins, I draw inspiration from both Asian and Western artistic traditions. My work primarily involves photography and digital arts, using my own nature photographs as a foundation for digital compositions created in Photoshop. Through transformation of these images, I explore themes of human existence.
