Diamond Pendant, Artisan-Made
Earth-Mined Diamond Pendant. This estate find is truly fascinating! This pendant appears to be hand-crafted from 14 karat yellow gold and designed as a three-stone pendant, using diamonds from three different eras! There is a total of approximately 1.50 carats of round cut, near-colorless, VS2 - I1 clarity diamonds that are tapered in size and channel-set. The top diamond, the smallest, is an Old Mine or European-cut, with a high table, large culet, and thin, bruted girdle, typical of diamonds that were cut in the mid-1800's to very early 1900's. The middle diamond has the most modern cutting style with the proportioned table and pavilion, no culet, and a polished, faceted girdle. The bottom diamond, and largest, is cut as an early modern brilliant-cut diamond with nice proportions, no culet, and a narrow, bruted girdle, as they were cut since around 1920. It is approximately 7/8" long and is truly a "past, present, and future" pendant! This is a preowned, estate item in excellent condition.
