Very rare work on the Jesuit missions overseas in Portugal and Spain. Published without the author's name and without any indication of the printing date, the work went through several editions, some bilingual. It deals with the Jesuit missions in Uruguay, Paraguay, the Indian rebellion and the departure of António Gomes Freire de Andrade, the first Count of Bobadela, to command the joint Spanish and Portuguese troops to fight the Indians. It also has a transcript of the instructions given to Jesuit priests in contact with indigenous populations and other letters from Jesuit priests on the same subject. Very rare.
