Large Paestanian lekythos, so-called Pagenstecher Lekythos. About 340 BC. Height 25,4cm, ø corpus 9,7cm. Upper side of the foot, part of the neck and the mouth with black glaze. On the corpus large picture depicting an altar, on the left side a young girl with pinned up hair holding taenia, wreath and fruits and on the right side a naked youth crowned with laurel wreath, holding stick and branch. Numerous details in red, white and yellow. With TL-analysis! Tiny chippings at the mouth, reassembled with small retouched cracks, but almost complete with nearly perfectly preserved colors. This lekythoi are distinguished by the ovoid corpus and the black figure technique which occurred in the 4th century BC otherwise only on the Panathenaic amphorae.
