AN EASTERN MEDITERRANEAN YELLOW GLASS UNGUENT BOTTLE, CA. 1ST CEN. AD
A small unguent bottle of yellow glass originating from the Eastern Mediterranean. The bottle has a many faceted body with various depictions of amphorae and other vessels surrounding the center. From the body rises a slender neck which flares back out into a funnel shape at the mouth. This style of bottle was often used for perfumes in the ancient world.
Eastern Mediterranean - ca 1st Century AD

Condition: Good overall, with sediment across much of surface and iridescence consistent with burial.
