Iron hilt with steel octagonal grip and bowl guard with stamped inspection marks, slightly curved blade with remains of engraved anchor and stamped inspection marks on ricasso and maker marked on the blade spine and dated 1842, leather scabbard with brass mounts, both mounts bear the inspection marks.
