DASSIN JULES: (1911-2008) American film Director, Writer and Actor. Dassin moved to France during the McCarthy area after being included in the Hollywood blacklist. Father of famous singer Joe Dassin, and husband of awarded Greek actress Melina Mercouri. A passionate love letter, A.L.S., `Jules´, one page, 4to, Greece, 9th April 1981, on his personal PRINTED stationery, to Carine Rueff. Dassin sends passionate words to his lover, stating in part `It is too difficult to maintain a silence. You are too deep in my heart. I do not, I cannot stop thinking in you
