Rare Jewish silver spice tower (for Besamim), London, Mid-19th century. Decorated with filigree, openwork and engravings of arches, geometric and floral motifs. Accompanied with birds, bells and flags. Given in 1888 to the synagogue Gabbai in Dunedin, New Zealand. Bears a plaque with engraved dedication: "Princes St. synagogue. Presented to P. Rosenthal Esq by a few friends on his retiring from the office of Warden". חברת נדביהן/שמחת תורה". Height: 25 cm. Weight: 316 grams. Hallmarked. Missing parts, dents.
