Very rare auction catalogue listing 799 items: "The collection of books described in this catalogue shows the interest taken by the Emperors of Russia in Modern Literature and in fine illustrated books. Most of the Novels of the Romantic Period are in first edition and in contemporary board bindings with leather backs, in the most perfect state of preservation”.
