Feb 20 1863 $20 Confederate Bond Interest Coupon, Hand Signed and Dated Grades vf details. During the Civil War, the Confederate government issued bonds in order to generate revenue to fund their military. Bonds were issued with a series of individual dated coupons attached that could be removed and taken to the issuing bank to receive interest payments due on the bond for the period noted on each coupon.
