The Babylonian Talmud which was Studied by Rabbi Moshe Finkel the Son of "the Alter of Slabodka" and Ram of the 'Hebron' Yeshiva
Babylonian Talmud, Vilnius 1908, 1909, 1912. A complete set of all the tractates, which was studied by Rabbi Moshe Finkel, a Ram of the 'Hebron' Yeshiva and the son of the 'Alter of Slabodka'. Rabbi Finkel's stamp appears on some of the tractates.
Rabbi Moshe Finkel studied at the Mir Yeshiva with Rabbi Eliyahu Baruch Kamai and Rabbi Eliezer Gordon. In addition, he was sent by his father (together with his brother Rabbi Eliezer Yehuda) to study with Rabbi Chaim Soloveitchik in Brisk. He also studied for a certain time at the Radun Yeshiva with the Chafetz Chaim.
In Sivan 1913 he married Sarah Zlota, the daughter of Rabbi Moshe Mordechai Epstein, the head of the Slabodka Yeshiva.
After his marriage, he worked as a Ram at the yeshiva and delivered Mussar lessons. Later, he founded a preparatory program for the Slabodka yeshiva called "Or Yisrael" and delivered lessons there.
In the winter of 1925, he immigrated to the Land of Israel to serve as a Ram at the Hebron Yeshiva. Less than a year later, on Chol Ha'Moed Sukkot, he died suddenly, being only 43 years old.
Rabbi Meir Ha'Cohen of Dvinsk said of him that he he will be the "Ketzot Ha'Choshen" of the generation. In a letter of condolence to his father, Rabbi Yerucham Leibowitz of Mir wrote of him: "Aron Ha'Shem" and "Ner Yisrael".
