Transition Period – a Large, Valuable Collection with almost 300 Envelopes of a Private Collector – Includes Very Important Items!
The collector sorted and arranged the envelopes according to the settlements of Israel. Each settlement has many envelopes related to the history of the Israeli postal services there during the Transition period.
All the envelopes were sent by mail. Many of them are registered mail.

To Pay envelope using Stamps of the Diaspora (Herzl's grave in Vienna) as postage stamps!
An envelope stamped with JNF stamps during the Transition Period which the post office of Chadera refused to stamp and fined with an additional payment of postal fee! The post office of Tel Aviv, to which the envelope arrived, did not collect the fine. Extremely rare!
An envelope that was stamped with a postage stamp and postmark of the British Mandate. Due to the establishment of the State, the envelope was fined yet was not delivered and the fine was not collected due to the fighting in the addressee's area. Extremely rare!
An envelope that was affixed with a two JNF stamps of 5 Mil after the establishment of the State and was postmarked in Rechovot on May 28, 1948. The post office did not postmark the postage stamps since they were invalid in the state of Israel and the postmark appears on the lower part of the envelope. The enveloped was also fined by 20 Mil. Rare! Certificate eof Tzachor.
An envelope that was sent in Tel Aviv on April 20 1948 with mixed stamping of two mandate postage stamps, a JNF stamp and stamp of Kofer Ha'Yishuv.
An envelope that was sent from Jerusalem to Haifa by "Atid" taxis. With a postage stamp of Kofer Ha'Yishuv and a purple stamp: "Sent by Atid Taxis".
