HISTORY - DUROC Michel (1772 - 1813) - Autograph letter signed - Napoleonica - Military school at Pont-à-Mousson, then artillery school at Châlon. He distinguished himself in Italy, wounded at the battle of Isonzo, and followed Napoleon in the Egyptian campaign. Grand Cross of the Legion of Honour. On his return to France, he was the emperor's diplomat, with special responsibility for his personal security. Autograph letter signed, dated Paris, 24.02.1808: ”Le Grand Maréchal du Palais certifie que M. Bézé est boulanger de la Maison de S.M. l'Empereur et Roi, et l'autorise à prendre le titre et placer l'enseigne que cette fourniture nécessite…”. - This lot is under temporary import in the UK. 5% VAT is due if delivered in the UK.
