HISTORY - BERENGER René (1830 - 1915) - Autograph letter signed - France - In 1870, he was an avocat général in Lyon. He served as a volunteer in the Franco-Prussian War and was wounded on the night of 28 December. Returning to the National Assembly, he was Minister of Public Works for a few days in 1873, then entered the Senate, where he was Vice-President from 1894 to 1897. In 1890, he became a member of the Académie des sciences morales et politiques.
