Medal jug with pewter mounting
probably Bunzlau, c. 1700, reddish body, lead oxide glaze coloured with brownstone, without pewter marks, profiled lid with flattened sphere and inset medal to Emperor Joseph I, Pewter stand ring and on the wall three round pewter frames with medals, these inscribed "Otto Mosb[achensis] C[omes] P[alatinus] Rh[eni] Bav[vriaie] D[ux] Administrator", "Wilhelmus IV Boiorum Dux Johann Bipont O P. Rh[eni] Bav[avriae] D[ux] Administrator", depiction of Johann I. of Palatinate-Zweibrücken (1550-1604), Wilhelm IV the Steadfast (1493-1550) as well as Otto I. of Palatinate-Mosbach (1390-1461), thus all three medals refer to Zweibrücken, the Palatinate and Bavaria, lid possibly added later, some scratching, tiny glaze defects, h 19 cm.
