dark blue cassette with silver embossed lettering "Arthur Rimbaud", inlaid with five etchings by Albin Brunovský, signed and titled in lead, cover page and imprint, the etchings printed by Ernst Lau, the portfolio was published in 1983 in an edition of 100 copies by the "eikon Grafik-Presse" at the Verlag der Kunst Dresden, here copy 74, this portfolio was awarded with the Grand Prix of the International Book Art Exhibition in Leipzig in 1982, splendid, precise prints on strong laid paper, one sheet with a slight yellowish discolouration at the upper margin, cassette slightly scratched, dimensions approx. 25,5 x 17,5 cm, sheet dimensions approx. 52,5 x 39,5 cm, enclosed typewritten text "Das trunkene Schiff" by Arthur Rimbaud. Artist's note: important Slovak painter, graphic artist, stamp and bookplate artist (1935 Zohor to 1997 Bratislava), 1955-61 studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava under Vincent Hložník, professor at the Academy of Arts in Bratislava, 1985 awarded the honorary title of national artist, from 1989 rector of the Academy of Arts in Bratislava, 1990 retired from academic teaching and worked exclusively as an artist, between 1964 and 1990 he designed ca. 30 stamps, the last banknote series of Czechoslovakia also originated from him, also active as a book illustrator, source: Wikipedia.
