made to Peter Hack's piece Margarete in Aix, see catalogue raisonné Brade/Stula L 82, partly scraped pin lithograph on light cardboard, signed and dated in lead on the right and numbered "25/30" on the left, nice colour saturated print, dimensions of the image ca. 18,5 x 12 cm, dimensions of the sheet ca. 34,5 x 27 cm. Artist's info: German painter and graphic artist (1907 Halle/Saale until 1976 Halle/Saale), considered as the most important naive artist of the GDR, 1921 beginning of an incomplete apprenticeship as a bricklayer, afterwards until 1939 casual and unskilled labourer, among others 1928-34 independent wool merchant as well as working as furniture carrier, construction worker, market helper etc., 1939-45 military service in 2. 1946-47 studied at the Burg Giebichenstein art college in Halle under Charles Crodel and Waldemar Grzimek, largely self-taught, from 1947 construction worker and 1948 temporary trainee in restoration techniques at the Moritzburg State Gallery in Halle, 1948 first participation in exhibitions with the artists' association "Die Fähre" and until 1951 freelance painter, from 1951 member of the Association of Visual Artists (VBK) of the GDR, 1951-52 restoration course with Kurt Bunge, 1954-56 worked as a stoker at Burg Giebichenstein and as a construction worker in Halle, from 1956 freelance in Halle with the support of friends and a scholarship from the CDU (GDR), in 1973 honoured with the art prize of the city of Halle, participated in the art exhibitions of the GDR from 1958-77, source: Vollmer, Eisold "Künstler in der DDR", Bildatlas "Kunst in der DDR" and Wikipedia.
