Open Gates of Heaven with a View of Paradise and, on the left, the Devil Casting Human Souls into Purgatory, etching in brown with light plate tone, signed and dated in lead on the right below the depiction "B. Goldschmidt (19)06" and titled in the centre "Das Märchen vom Himmelreich", dusty, some small tears and a little bit waterstained at margins, dimensions of image ca. 30 x 44 cm, dimensions of sheet ca. 46,5 x 57 cm. Artist info: Germ. Painter, fresco artist, sgraffito artist, graphic artist, designer and illustrator (1881 Nuremberg to 1964 Munich), pupil of the Nuremberg Art School, studied at the Munich Academy from 1899 under Martin Feuerstein and Franz von Stuck, founded in 1900 with Hermann Hesse, Ludwig Finckh, Robert Weiße and others, went on a study trip to Italy, later worked as the owner of a painter's shop in Munich, member of the Reichsverband Bildender Künstler Deutschlands, the Deutscher Werkbund, the Munich artists' association "Der Bund" and second chairman of the "Künstlergruppe 1927".
