frühlingshafter Blick entlang eines von Birken gesäumtten Baches zur imposenten Kulisse des Riesengebirges, colour etching on paper, mid-20th century, signed by hand "Fried. Iwan", on the left below the image in the plate small Remarque with willow catkins and snowdrops, titled on the reverse, minimally stained, framed behind glass, plate dimensions 26 x 30 cm. Artist's info: called "Schnee-Iwan", Germ. Painter, graphic artist and ex-libris artist (1889 Landeshut in Lower Silesia to 1967 Wangen in Allgäu), studied 1903-08 at the Royal School of Arts and Crafts in Breslau with Carl Ernst Morgenstern and 1910-14 at the Berlin Academy of Arts, member of the Reichsverband Bildender Künstler Deutschlands and the Freie Vereinigung der Graphiker zu Berlin, active first in Krummhübel, later in Hirschberg in the Riesengebirge, after 1946 in Wangen, source: Vollmer and Dressler.
