Arrangement of books, picture, a belt and a peaked cap, watercolour and opaque white over pencil, signed (partly covered by the fold) and dated "... Tröger 1920", inscribed on the reverse of the frame "Alfred Tröger *11.11.1898", framed behind glass, fold dimensions approx. 20.5 x 26 cm. Artist info: German graphic artist, landscape and still life painter (1898 Langenhessen to 1974 Werdau), first apprenticeship as a painter, artistically largely self-taught, military service in WW1, after 1918 active as a decorative painter, from 1927 exhibitions in Zwickau, Berlin and Dresden, from 1936 freelance in Werdau, 1938 trip to Italy, 1943-46 military service in WW2 and war captivity in Oldenburg.
