nude couple in the sauna, copper engraving, signed in pencil below the image on the right "Zettl", titled on the left "A. u. E." (for Adam and Eve), as well as numbered "I/96/100" and inscribed "A.P.", dated and ligatured monogram "(19)78 Z" in the image on the right, somewhat stained and with light at the paper margin, image dimensions approx. 21 x 18,5 cm, sheet dimensions approx. 43,5 x 33 cm. Artist's info: German graphic artist and illustrator (born 1943 in Falkenau near Eger [Cheb]), 1961-64 apprenticeship as commercial artist in Hildburghausen and Meiningen, studied 1964-69 at the HGB Leipzig with Werner Tübke, Gerhard Kurt Müller and Rolf Kuhrt, afterwards freelance illustrator and engraver in Leipzig, from 1973 member of the VBK of the GDR, undertook study trips, a. o. to the High Tatra and to the Czech Republic. He went on study trips to the High Tatras and the Alps, participated in numerous national and international exhibitions, and taught at the Freie Zeichenschule Leipzig e.V. in 1994, 1992-94 lecturer at the Burg Giebichenstein University of Applied Sciences in Halle, received numerous honours such as the Ministry of Culture Award in 1975, the City of Leipzig Art Award in 1988, the Hamburg Stylus Art Association Award in 1991 and the Hans Meid Award in 1996, worked in Leipzig and later in Freiberg in Saxony, Source: Eisold "Künstler in der DDR" and Internet.
