"Die Goldwägerin" nach Rembrandt
Depiction of an elderly woman weighing gold in a dusky interior, copy of the original by Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn (1606-1669) from 1643, now kept in the Staatliche Gemäldegalerie "Alte Meister" in Dresden, almost in original size, slightly impasto painting, oil on canvas, unsigned, stamped on the reverse "Copie nach No. 1564 der Königl. Gemälde-Galerie zu Dresden 1910", craquelure, drawing through the stretcher, minimal need of restoration, beautifully framed in gold moulding, folding dimensions approx. 111 x 100 cm.
