Farmer's wife with shouldered rake, next to boys on a sunny path by the river, against a village backdrop in the background, atmospheric, slightly impasto painting in powerful colours, oil on canvas, c. 1880, indistinctly signed lower left "H. Veit", indistinct annotation on the reverse of the frame "B. Dorlmund N 17", scratches in the fold area, originally framed in a Historism gilt stucco frame approx. 16 cm wide (rest.bed.), fold dimensions approx. 53 x 74 cm. Artist info: German landscape, marine and genre painter (1816 Berlin to 1893 Berlin), member of the Prussian Art Association, active in Berlin and temporarily in Potsdam, source: artprice and internet.
