KPM Berlin large lidded vase with eagle finial
Design by Friedrich Elias Meyer (1723-1785), underglaze blue sceptre, red orb and black war mark 1914-1918, embossed and brush mark, month and year mark for 1914 and decoration number 148/29.The urn form with classicistic relief decoration of fluted walls and ornamental friezes with mint green staffage, a laurel wreath suspended on both sides, each with a floral bouquet in fine polychrome onglaze painting as well as etched gold painting and gold staffage, the domed lid with sculptural eagle as handle and corresponding decoration, shoulder slightly burnt and small burnt crack at the muzzle ring, otherwise good condition, h 36.5 cm.
