Artist info: Austrian painter and graphic artist, stamp designer, publicist as well as pianist (1914 Vienna to 1995 Mödling), important representative of the Viennese School of Fantastic Realism, studied at the Vienna Academy with Carl Fahringer and Karl Sterrer from 1931, undertook extensive concert and study trips as pianist of the "Penguin Jazz Quartet" from 1932, including to England, France, Italy, Switzerland, Greece, Turkey, Egypt and Scandinavia, maintained studio in Vienna, 1938 exhibition ban, 1941-45 war service and destruction of the Vienna studio, 1946 foundation of the Surrealist group in the Austrian Art Club with Edgar Jené, Ernst Fuchs, Wolfgang Hutter, Fritz Janschka, Anton Lehmden and Arik Brauer, 1957 first "Adam picture", 1959 participant in documenta II in Kassel, 1959 foundation of the Viennese School of Fantastic Realism, from 1966 professor in Hamburg and from 1968 professor at the Vienna Academy, Source: Vollmer and Internet.
