View of a playground under trees, well frequented by children, etching, 1919, signed in pencil "Paul Paeschke" below the image on the right, inscribed on the reverse "Paul Paeschke "Kinderspielplatz" Radier.", slightly browned, image dimensions approx. 32.5 x 43.5 cm, sheet dimensions approx. 45 x 56 cm. Artist's info: German painter and graphic artist (1875 Berlin to 1943 ibid.), initially trained as a drawing teacher, after receiving his teacher's certificate he studied at the Berlin Academy 1900-06 with Otto Brausewetter and Georg Ludwig Meyn, finally master pupil of Karl Koepping, from 1905 he attended the Great Berlin Art Exhibition, undertook study trips to Paris, Italy, Spain and England, 1914-18 war volunteer in World War I, kept close friends with the artist. During the Second World War he worked as an art teacher in Brandenburg. He was represented in numerous museums, among others in the copper engraving cabinets of Berlin, Dresden, Munich, Strasbourg etc., Member of the Berlin Secession, the Verein Berliner Künstler and the Deutscher Künstlerbund Weimar, active in Berlin-Zehlendorf, Source: Thieme-Becker, Vollmer, Dressler, Wirth "Paul Paeschke, einem Berliner Maler zum 100.
