View of overgrown dunes with some animals and in the background the sea, colour lithograph, c. 1920-30, signed in pencil under the image on the right "HSteiner" and inscribed on the left "Probedruck", slight lack of preservation, framed under mount and behind glass, image dimensions c. 39 x 57 cm. Artist's info: Germ. Painter and graphic artist (1911 Kaiserslautern to 2009 Rome), from 1926 attended the school of arts and crafts in Hamburg-Altona, 1927-29 apprenticeship at the Hamburg State Theatre and at the State Opera in Berlin, 1929-32 stage painter at the Theater am Gärtnerplatz in Munich, studied at the Academy of Arts in Munich under Karl Caspar, 1934-38 freelance painter in Düsseldorf, 1938 moved to Florence, Studied at the Academy in Florence with Felice Carena, 1939 joint exhibition with Rudolf Levy and Eduard Bargheer, 1946 took part in the Venice Biennale, 1948-49 lived in Venice, 1950 returned to Germany, member of the Palatinate Secession, 1959-74 taught at the private Anna Schmidt School in Frankfurt am Main, 1966 built a summer house in Liguria, from 1974 lived permanently in Italy.
