long oval form in green with perforated line, typical work from the artist's late period, silkscreen and die-cut on light cardboard, circa 1968, signed in biros on the lower left "L. Fontana" and inscribed on the left "a Roma con tanti baci", inscribed on the reverse of the frame "Lucio Fontana Concetto speziale Siebdruck - grün", somewhat wavy and slight creases, partly resting against the sheet, framed behind glass, sheet measures approx. 71 x 34.5 cm. Artist info: Ital. Artist (1899 Rosario/Argentina until 1968 Comabbio near Varese), 1905 moved with his parents to Milan, 1914-15 studied at the building school in Milan, 1922-28 lived in Argentina, from 1928 studied at the Accademia di Brera in Milan with Adolfo Wildt, 1930 first exhibition in Milan and participation at the 17. From 1934 he was a member of the artists' group "Abstraction-Création", from 1935 his first ceramic works and from 1936 he worked for the Sèvres manufactory, from 1939 he lived in Argentina again for a few years, 1947 he returned to Milan, 1946 he initiated the "Manifesto bianco", 1958 he created his first works with cuts in canvas, he participated several times in the documenta in Kassel, source: Vollmer and Wikipedia.
