Günter Peters, Kreideküste auf Rügen light summery coastal landscape with a view from the beach to the imposing chalk cliffs on Rügen, watercolour, signed and dated on the lower right "Peters [19]66", inscribed on the reverse "Dr. Hönsch", on the reverse of the watercolour handwritten dedication "Zur Erinnerung an ein freudiges Wiedersehen - Sept. Artist info: actually Günter Peplowsky, called himself Günter Peters from 1941, German painter, fashion illustrator, museum artist. Painter, fashion draughtsman, museum and zoo director (1907 Hoyerswerda to 1987 Hoyerswerda), from 1921 apprenticeship as decorative painter, 1924-27 working in the profession, 1928-29 studies at the State Academy of Arts and Crafts, among others with Karl Enderlein, 1930-31 as fashion draughtsman in Dresden, at the same time further training as art painter, from 1931 freelance in Hoyerswerda, undertook study trips to the Alps in Austria, Holland, Hungary and Switzerland, 1936 master painter's degree, from 1937 in Breslau, here collaboration with Ludwig Peter Kowalski, 1940-47 war service and imprisonment, 1947 return to Hoyerswerda, subsequently as a painter, significant promoter of culture, from 1952 director of the municipal museum and the animal park in Hoyerswerda, which he founded in 1959, 1958 founding member of the artistic production cooperative "Neu Form" in Seidewinkel, 1968 trip to Cuba, 1975 retirement and artistic freelance in Hoyerswerda, source: Wikipedia.
